Outreach Event Hosts

The Lead Safe America Foundation is thrilled to announce that for Lead Poisoning Prevention Month in October 2013 agencies around the country are hosting “Special Engagement Preview Screenings” of our film MisLEAD: America’s Secret Epidemic.  These screenings are being hosted both by public agencies, corporations and collaborations between the two.  While some of the screenings are still in the planning phases  – with all the details not quite finalized our fully confirmed screenings and hosts include:

• BERKELEY, California

  • Sunday, October 6, 2013 – Focus Group Screening of Current Rough-Cut
  • Hosted by Friends of the Earth at the David Brower Center
  • Panelists Include:  Tamara Rubin, Director of MisLEAD; other panelists to be announced

• MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota – FLYER HERE

  • Wednesday, October 16, 2013 – Special Engagement Preview Screening
  • Hosted by the State of Minnesota Department of Public Health and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health
  • Panelists Include:  Tamara Rubin, Director of MisLEAD; other panelists to be announced

• RACINE, Wisconsin – FLYER HERE

  • Thursday, October 17, 2013 – Special Engagement Preview Screening
  • Hosted by the City of Racine Health Department in partnership with SC Johsnon
  • Panelists Include:  Tamara Rubin, Director of MisLEAD; Amy Allen Gooder, mother of lead-poisoned children from Minnesota; Haven McWilliams, mother of lead-poisoned children from Wisconsin.

• MANCHESTER, New Hampshire

  • Monday, October 21, 2013 – Special Engagement Preview Screening
  • Hosted by the City of Manchester, NH
  • Panelists Include:  Tamara Rubin, Director of MisLEAD; other panelists to be announced

• LITTLETON, New Hampshire

  • Tuesday, October 22, 2013 – Special Engagement Preview Screening
  • Hosted by the Littleton School Department in partnership with Winn Realty Century 21 and support from New Hampshire Housing Lead Program and Lead-Edu
  • Panelists Include:  Tamara Rubin, Director of MisLEAD; other panelists to be announced

• CONCORD, New Hampshire

  • Wednesday, October 23, 2013 – Special Engagement Preview Screening
  • Hosted by a partnership between the NH Department of Health and Human Services Lead Poisoning Prevention Program and East Concord Cooperative Preschool with support from the NH Charitable Fund, the New Hampshire Housing Lead Paint Program, and Lead-edu.  Any funds raised will benefit the East Concord Cooperative Preschool.

• BURLINGTON, VermontFLYER HERE

  • Thursday, October 24, 2013 – Special Engagement Preview Screening
  • Hosted by The City of Burlington Lead Program
  • Panelists Include:  Tamara Rubin, Director of MisLEAD; other panelists to be announced

• SAN FRANCISCO, California

  • Friday, October 25, 2013 – Special Engagement Preview Screening
  • Hosted by the City and County of San Francisco Department of Public Health in collaboration with the San Francisco Bay Area “Get the Lead Out” Coalition
  • Panelists Include:  Tamara Rubin, Director of MisLEAD; other panelists to be announced

• WASHINGTON, D. C.

  • October 29, 2013 (tentative date pending location confirmation) – Special Engagement Preview Screening
  • Hosted by Eco Strip, LLC
  • Panelists Include:  Tamara Rubin, Director of MisLEAD; other panelists to be announced
