Q.Where did you get this trip for four? How can you be offering this?
A. Jon and Briar Fishman and the Waterwheel Foundation helped us with the event tickets and our sponsor CertifiedKit.com is covering the plane fare part of the donation. Please visit our sponsor’s site as they are an amazing company doing great things to protect children. Thanks to everyone who has donated to make this raffle possible! Several other companies are donating additional prizes too, please keep an eye out for those announcements on our blog over the next month.
Q. What is the total number of tickets being sold?
A. No more than 6,500 tickets total will be sold.
Q. How much are the tickets?
A. The tickets are $25 each or five for $100.
Q. Is there a limit on how many tickets I can buy?
A. No. The more the merrier!
Q. Where is the money raised by this raffle going?
A. The funds raised by this raffle will support the work of the Lead Safe America Foundation. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit for childhood lead poisoning prevention that was founded in 2011. We have won several national awards for our advocacy work helping children, including two from the Federal government. In 2014, on a very limited budget, we helped more than 16,000 families with free lead-paint test kits, information and assistance— both families in crisis whose children had already tested positive for lead and families whose children had not been exposed but whose parents had concerns about exposure and wanted to do everything in their power to protect their children. Q. My kids are 13 and 15 (or some other combination of “not under 13”) if we win, will I be able to bring them?
A. We don’t have a final answer for that question yet. We will do our best to accommodate a family like this if they win. It might require an extra fee be paid on top of the package price. As soon as we have a better answer for this question we will post it here.
Q. When will the tickets go on sale?
A. Tickets are on sale now until November 7th at 7 pm PST. (unless we sell out first.) If you purchase your ticket after 5 pm PST on November 7th your ticket numbers WILL be assigned to you, however you may not get your ticket numbers emailed to you until after the drawing.
Q. I don’t have any children and don’t want to bring children with me, can I still win?
A. Yes. If you win you can just have the room to yourself or bring a friend. The package includes up to two adults and two children – but you don’t have to use all of the spaces.
Q: Can I gift the prize to another family if I win?
A: Yes, you can as long as the person who uses the prize is a family unit or other combination of two adults and two children.
Q. Can I buy a raffle ticket as a gift for someone else?
A. Yes you can – please submit their name in the notes field and let us know that it is a gift when you purchase it.
Q. If I win can I re-sell the package?
A. No you cannot.
Q. I live in Canada, am I allowed to buy a ticket?
A. Yes, as long as it is not prohibited by your district/ area / local government.
Q. When/Where will the drawing take place?
A. The raffle is being run to benefit the Lead Safe America Foundation based in Portland, Oregon. The drawing will take place in our office at 6637 SE Milwaukie Avenue, Suite 203, Portland, Oregon 97202. The drawing will be held November 7th at 7 p.m. PST.
