One Response to EPA Expands Oversight of Lead-Paint Rule

It is encouraging to hear about EPA educating contractors about RRP’s intent BEFORE they actually do inspections on-site with companies and slap them with big fines. That seems a much friendlier way to get compliance with the law. We still hear lots of critics of RRP but few supporting contractors. Our company, Eco-Strip, was just contacted by one RRP-certified contractor today. He obviously is already on board with RRP requirements. He mentioned that in his RRP training high-heat gun and open torch methods of lead-paint removal are clearly prohibited in the law but compliant methods are not discussed. He said he had to do his own research to find a safe method. Apparently, many painting and remodeling contractors and landlords are not aware that the Speedheater™ Infrared Paint Remover is an RRP-compliant, low- heat paint removal method.
